DO NOT CLOSE SESSION/PART III./SPICE ODYSSEY

There came a long phase in the life of the label, where I took my time to reflect on the detrimental effect commercial pressures and deadlines inflicted on my design processes and creativity. I was looking for a field where it was possible to harmoniously merge my passion for textiles and clothes with other creative and personal needs. I continued to familiarize myself with knitwear. Within this process, I have lost any interest in designing conventional, self-contained collections. Instead, I started focusing on developing excellently crafted, comfortable, exciting products that appeal through material, comfort and well-executed design. On this path, the design of the color palette started to shift towards the combination of individual thicknesses and materiality of different yarns. This, and the technical conditions given by the techniques, led to new design features and creative expressions: Colors that are individually twisted together for each piece of clothing are now a distinguishing feature of most, if not all, of the pieces. This process has also awoken a huge appetite for further pursuit of these technically determined color mixes in other media – and for more artistic work influenced by color combinations.

The development of unique, ergonomic, visually appealing, zero-waste clothes has also brought a new project to life: an online store. The store will be launched in the spring 2021 and will not only present garments and items designed by Jevaprojects, but, as we support the local artistic community, also beautiful and wonderfully designed products by excellent local craftspeople and artists.
