DO NOT CLOSE SESSION/PART II./POLARIS
In 2015 my interest has shifted toward knitwear. I have extensively researched manual knitting machine techniques of patterns. For both the first and the second part of the «do not close the session»-collection the aim of this research was not to end up with finished garments, but to explore tactility, sensuality and to me, a new sense of visuality. In order to explore and not be distracted, I developed a short series, at first solely composed of silver-grey cotton yarn. It took me some time to probe at the relationship of knitted stiches relating to bodies and pattern cuts. The almost «none-color» of silvery-whitish gray has subsequently, within in this process, directed my attention towards calm and spaciousness within the realm of photography.
The cathartic emptiness of plain-colored spaces has directly influenced the further path of the collection, started in 2015. It has awakened an incredible burst of color and a renewed, insatiable appetite for the process of drawing and illustration.
